UNPRESCRIBED The Movie
UNPRESCRIBED conveys the stories of Veterans overcoming trauma through plant medicine.
Filming began in 2018 at the peak of the Perdue Pharma scandal when Veterans were committing suicide at the rate of 22 per day. Today that number is closer to 17, which is still too many. Even with improved opioid management, many are still prescribed a cocktail of drugs, which can be replaced by all-natural alternatives. While socially acceptable today, certain plant medicines remain illegal at the federal level.
